Andrew Gilmore
Skills Development Instructor


Andrew Gilmore has recently joined Gregory Poole as an Instructor in the Skills Development, Construction Division, after a 21-year tenure as a Field Technician in the same division. Throughout his 24 years at Gregory Poole, Andrew has held various roles, including Master Field Technician and Service Field Technician, showcasing his growth and dedication within the company.

Andrew decided to become an instructor to positively impact the careers of younger technicians by sharing his extensive field experience. He believes in the importance of hard work, dedication, and patience for anyone considering a career as a technician, and has always aimed to build strong, trust-based relationships with customers. His favorite equipment to work on includes 990’s, 988G/H platforms, and 773/775 haul trucks.

Brian Jackson
Certified Dealer Instructor


Brian Jackson grew up in the construction industry due to his father being a road building superintendent, and he now works as a Certified Dealer Instructor in Gregory Poole’s Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program after becoming an instructor in 2015. He joined Gregory Poole 20 years ago and worked as a Field and Shop Technician before becoming an instructor. Prior his work at Gregory Poole, Brian served in the US Army and later worked as an equipment operator.

Brian’s goal as an instructor is to set future technicians up for success by passing on the knowledge he has learned throughout his career, and he believes the technician career path is a great fit for those who enjoy being a problem solver. His favorite machines to work on and operate are dozers and motor graders.

Chris Moore
Certified Operator Instructor


Chris Moore is a Certified Operator Instructor and has been with Gregory Poole Equipment Company for over 10 years after joining the company in 2013. He holds Articulated Truck, Off-Highway Truck, Hydraulic Excavator, Wheel Loader, and Skid Steer, Multi-Terrain, and Compact Track Loader machine certifications. Chris decided to become an instructor to share the knowledge he has gained throughout his career and has been an educator for over six years. He received his CIAP Certification through Caterpillar.

Growing up, Chris could always be found working on equipment repair projects, and he had a strong interest in figuring out how things work. While he enjoys working on all equipment models, some of his favorites include excavators and skid steer loaders. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, and working on home projects.

Garrett Poplin
Certified Operator Instructor


Garrett Poplin has been a Certified Operator with Gregory Poole since 2018. He originally joined the Gregory Poole team in 1991, but his professional work in the industry dates back to 1988, and while growing up he spent time doing farm equipment repairs. Before becoming a Certified Operator Instructor, Garrett advanced in multiple roles at Gregory Poole including as a Senior Shop Technician, Skills Development Instructor, and Technology Specialist.

For Garrett, a highlight of working as an instructor is sharing what he has learned throughout his professional experience with apprentice students. His favorite equipment to work on includes a Cat 299D3 Compact Track Loader and a 963 Track Loader. When not at work, Garrett can be found attending Carolina Hurricanes games as a season ticket holder, and he enjoys offshore fishing, and deer, duck, and turkey hunting.

Scott Potter
Skills Development Instructor


Scott Potter brings extensive experience to Gregory Poole as a Skills Development Instructor. With a rich background that includes roles as Branch Service Manager, Technical Instructor, and various positions in the US Army and US Marines, Scott has honed his skills over decades. He is particularly proud of his work with the Afghan National Army and his contributions to the Camden and Nutrien facilities. Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Religion from Liberty University.

Scott’s passion for the industry began in the Marine Corps, and he finds great satisfaction in teaching and repairing machines. He believes in dedication and doing things right. His favorite equipment includes motor graders and 3512 B&C engines.

Trent Jones
Skills Development Instructor


Trent Jones is a Skills Development Instructor, and before becoming an instructor he worked as a Component Specialist in Gregory Poole’s specialization shop. A graduate of the Caterpillar ThinkBIG program, Trent decided to become an instructor because he loves learning new things and teaching it to others. In 2023, he traveled to Melbourne, Australia to compete in the Dealer Top Apprentice Program, an international competition that recognizes top technician talent. Representing Gregory Poole and ThinkBIG, Trent placed second in his category.

Recently, Trent has taken an interest in learning about the new Cat 255 and 265 compact track loaders, and he looks forward to helping customers with these machines. Outside of work, Trent enjoys learning about interesting and obscure pieces of history.

John Adamof
Technical Services Manager


John Adamof is a seasoned professional with 23 years at Gregory Poole and 37 years in the Cat Dealers network. Throughout his tenure at GP, he has held various roles including Master Field Technician, Compact Construction Service Manager, and Construction Technical Services Manager. John’s dedication to his work is evident in his passion for giving back to the industry and nurturing the next generation of technicians. He finds great satisfaction in teaching and mentoring, ensuring that the knowledge and skills he has acquired are passed on.

John’s favorite equipment to work on includes excavators and large wheel loaders, reflecting his extensive experience and expertise. Outside of work, John enjoys a variety of hobbies such as attending Hurricanes games with his wife, hunting, making sausage and smoking food, and rebuilding cars. His diverse interests and commitment to excellence make him a valued leader at GP Academy.

Caitlin Garner
Technical Services Assistant


Caitlin Garner is a Technical Services Assistant with Gregory Poole Equipment Company. She has a 12-year nursing background and finds fulfillment in helping others and being part of their story. Her husband, who started as a technician 2 here at Gregory Poole, is now currently a Master Field Technician. His hard work and dedication inspire her daily. Caitlin looks forward to assisting technicians and customers as they further their training through GP Academy.

Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys crafting, spending time with family and friends, attending her kids’ sporting events and traveling to the beach.

 

Rebekah Edwards
Technical Services Assistant


Rebekah Edwards has been with Gregory Poole Equipment Company for 7 years and an educator for 6 of those years. Currently a Technical Services Assistant, Rebekah has also worked in the Parts Department. With a passion for the industry inspired by her father, who worked with GP for 40 years, Rebekah grew up around heavy equipment and chose to continue the legacy. Prior to joining GP, she spent several years in the automotive parts industry.

Rebekah has contributed significantly to GP, including developing the Technician Career Guides and assisting with TCDP-Accreditation through CAT in 2021. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, riding motorcycles, DIY projects, church activities, tennis, calligraphy, and collecting antiques. Her commitment to training and growth is evident in her work, helping new technicians build their careers at GP.
