Financial Aid Information

Financial aid allows Grace Academy to provide qualified students an opportunity to receive a Christian college-preparatory education that would not otherwise have access to an independent school education because of financial constraints. This assistance makes Grace more accessible and affordable, thus creating a more diverse school community.

Grace Academy financial aid is need-based. It is our belief the prime financial responsibility for a child’s education rests with the parents to the full extent that they are able. Grants of assistance are based on a family’s ability to meet educational expenses. Scholarships are not intended to cover 100% of the cost of attendance at Grace Academy, and will not exceed 60% of tuition. All families are expected to contribute to the cost of their student’s education. Our financial aid scholarship program assists families with students in all grades.

What types of financial aid does Grace Academy offer?

Need-Based Scholarship – This scholarship is an award from Grace Academy and is not required to be repaid. The majority of financial support that makes an education at Grace more affordable for qualifying families is provided through this scholarship. The scholarships are intended to reduce the financial burden associated with the cost of tuition.

Is financial aid an annual award?

A scholarship is awarded for one academic year. The family must re-apply for scholarships each year. All tuition and fees owed by families must be current to be considered for the upcoming year’s tuition assistance.

How do I begin the process?

  1. Apply for Admission to Grace Preparatory Academy.

  2. Download the financial aid form.

  3. Submit forms to Grace.

Competition for financial aid is significant. Limited funds may prevent the Financial Aid Committee from awarding assistance to all qualified deserving applicants. Therefore, students to whom financial aid is awarded are expected to accept or decline the award immediately upon receipt of the notification letter from Grace. In the event the student fails to comply with this and other reasonable requirements, the Financial Aid Committee reserves the right to award the aid to an alternate applicant.

Contact the Grace Academy for further information.

What is considered by the school when awarding financial aid?

  • The family must demonstrate a financial need to receive a scholarship that is not

obtainable by other means.

  • The student must exhibit exemplary citizenship, and a positive classroom attitude

reflected by a GPA of 2.0 or above.

  • The parents display a Christ-like attitude towards the academy, faculty, and other families

in the school. Families who receive assistance must agree to contribute 40 hours of

volunteer work (work days, committees, fund raising events, office help) during the

academic year.

I am divorced or no longer living with my child‘s other parent. Will Grace Academy still expect both parents to be a part of the application for tuition assistance?

Yes. We ask both parents to complete a financial statement to provide a true picture of all available resources. Circumstances differ widely among separated or divorced parents and urge you to contact the Admissions department if there is difficulty in providing the requested information.

I may remarry or establish a permanent relationship with another adult. Will that person’s financial circumstances be considered in the tuition assistance allocation for my child?

Yes. The addition of another adult into a household generally changes a family’s financial picture to a considerable extent. The Parents’ Financial Statement must be completed together, providing information pertinent to the new family unit and appropriate tax documentation.

Tuition Assistance Award Recalculation

If a family is awarded tuition assistance based on multiple siblings attending Grace Academy or other tuition charging institutions and one or more of the siblings decides to enroll elsewhere; the family contribution of financial support must be recalculated based on these changed circumstances. If the Financial Aid Review Committee becomes aware of information that suggests that the family’s ability to contribute to educational costs may be at a different level than previously determined (including gifts, inheritances, etc.), then the award will be re-evaluated. This re-evaluation may occur at any time throughout the year, before or after the granting of an award. Should it be determined, at any time, that a family or applicant knowingly did not disclose significant income or assets, and that this failure to disclose resulted in a larger award of tuition assistance, then the award and the enrollment will be reviewed and decisions re-evaluated.

Confidentiality Statement

Grace Academy will treat as confidential all financial information provided by families. Only the Financial Aid Review Committee will review this information. The identity of all students receiving tuition assistance will be held in strict confidence.
