Overview

Grace Preparatory Academy has been certified University Model School ® (UMS) since 2006. Certification is awarded to schools who have passed stringent guidelines laid down by the National Association of University Model Schools (NAUMS), in relation to character development, academics, student activities, and school policy. UMS academic requirements ensure we meet or exceed the Colorado state educational standards.
We currently use a curriculum that was developed through research on critical thinking. We also test our students annually and compare their test results with other private schools on a national level.

As a UMS we integrate the home and the classroom by educating students with professional teachers on campus and with trained parents at home. We feel parents play a critical role in their children’s lives during the preteen and teenage years. Students attend classes on campus with professional teachers each MWF. For every core class, they receive one hour of continuing education work to accomplish at home with parents on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students are taught the time management and independent learning skills they will need to be successful in college using this format.

Parents and teachers have a very open line of communication through our school website. Parents may access their student’s grades, assignments, and teachers at any time. Grace Prep provides valuable training sessions for parents on how to be successful in their role as a teacher. We also provide continuing education on topics important to parents such as the benefits and harm of the internet.

The Tuesday and Thursday in home learning format has given parents back the valuable commodity of time. Actively-involved parents given the time, and the opportunity to employ the tools needed, will develop close, loving, and nurturing relationships with their children.

Grace Prep works with parents to develop their students spiritually and emotionally as well. We have a full time Dean of Character who nurtures, leads by example, and directs students to a lifestyle that is character driven. Students read literature which challenges their faith, attend mission trips, and apply Biblical Truth to academics and social behavior.

Upon graduating from Grace Prep, parents can be assured their students are college-worthy, character-witnesses of Christ for the next generation.
